Got it to work!
the above quandong was germinated in a 1 pint mason jar that had been sterilised in the microwave (1 minute on high) in a bed of vermiculite that had been rehydrated with boiled water from the kettle and allowed to cool (20g of vermiculite + 80g of boiled water).
The quandong seed itself had been cracked and removed from it’s shell, and then it was soaked in a 10% solution of household bleach and then rinsed in distilled water to get the bleach off.
This was all done on October 3 and then I checked the jar weekly to remove any mouldy seeds. Today is November 13 (so like 40 days?) and I saw this little guy. No others yet, but I am excited for the possibility.
